The Mission Preparatory School is a nonreligious, tuition-free public school serving transitional kindergarten through 8th grade.

Eligibility for the 2026-27 school year
Transitional kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program that modifies curriculum to be age appropriate. To be eligible for TK, a student must turn 4 years old by June 1st, 2026.
For Kindergarten, a student must turn 5 on or before August 11th, 2026.
For 1st grade, a student must be 6 years old on or before August 11th, 2026.
How to enroll
We admit all eligible pupils up to the school’s capacity through a public random drawing (“lottery”). Here’s how it works.
Our application opens in the Fall when families can apply online or in person. Applications stay open until a week before the lottery. Families can watch live as lottery results are shared.
Each grade has a set number of spots available depending on our current enrollment. Students whose names are not called are automatically put on our waiting list. Families will be notified of their child’s status for the next school year.
Lottery preferences
Preference will be given to students in the following sequence of priority:
Siblings of current Mission Prep students
Children of Mission Prep faculty and founding board members
Students who reside within the boundaries of the district
All other students who wish to attend the school
